Military Sisters Together For The First Time

Find a Fayre & Square
Fayre & Square family pub brand hosted a series of very special parties to bring together a network of armed forces partners and family members for the very first time.
The Band of Sisters, an online support network for ladies with partners and family members in the armed forces, was set up by military charity, Help for Heroes. Members had never met in person so Fayre & Square, which is owned by Spirit Pub Company, invited members of the Band of Sisters to join in a celebratory meal at their local Fayre & Square pub, ahead of Armed Forces Day on June 30th.
Sally Wainwright, concept manager for Fayre & Square, said: “The Band of Sisters represents everything that is worthwhile and special about social media. Having recently launched our own Fayre & Square Facebook and Twitter pages, we know what a vital tool that it can be and we feel honoured to be able to host a party for those ladies who have done such a fantastic job of supporting their fellow sisters whilst their loved ones are serving our country.”
Ali Richmond, manager for the Band of Sisters, said: “The social network provides a place where ladies can share their fears and joys with other military family members who understand what they are going through. Many of the ladies have made firm friends through the network but we have never held any kind of official party to give the ladies the chance to meet up face to face.

“The parties were a huge success and very emotional for many of the sisters, who have been online pals for many months and years.”
